Creating Advertisements that Rock!
Earlier I did an article on making your customers laugh and I would like to continue that theme into this article as well. Have you ever noticed that many ads start to look alike in magazines, television, or on flyers. Thats because everyone, especially designers like to follow a trend and if they see work that they like they start trying to replicate that artist. Many also read the same magazines in the design world to see what is hot. By doing that however it may look really cool, but in the long run your ad will look like everyone else’s advertisement and now longer stick out from the crowd. The invention of Photoshop and other programs have helped to make everyone a designer, but by doing that people are using more photographs, which take away the individual style of an artist. Don’t get me wrong I use computer programs all the time but I don’t use photographs so my work is always true to my own style.
If you would like your advertising campaign to stick out from the crowd then here is how you do that. Find an artist if you are not one yourself, decide on the focus of your advertising campaign and create a series of ads that will go out various times throughout the year at different times and with different media. To create a different effect change artists on an annual basis, this way people will start to look forward to your ads as a keepsake more so than just for the ad, but also for the art. Your ads will stay top of mind longer and you will have more success with your program. Try it and see!
