The Waiting Room-Cartoon of the Week

The-Waiting-Room-Cartoon

Story Behind the Cartoon

As a truck driver it isn’t unusual for drivers to have long periods of time waiting to unload their trucks. Often you are huddled into a room with little explanation as to why things are taking so long. There have been times in my  career where I felt this could happen. Hopefully it won’t happen to you. Enjoy!

The Story Behind the Cartoon

Have you ever been so excited to get started on a project and you totally forgot about everything else? I have so many projects going on in my head that I jump out of bed and can’t wait to get started. Now that the world is heading more towards video not taking a minute to make sure you are fully dressed may cause you to show more about yourself than you normally would. The Pep Talk-Cartoon of the Week

The-Pep-Talk-Cartoon

The Story Behind the Cartoon

Now that the weathers turning nicer golfers will be getting ready to hit the courses if they haven’t already. Every year I feel I should be having a talk with my golf balls much like my kids before an outing. These golf balls just like kids of course don’t listen either. Oh well, happy golfing!

Remember when the commercials were on television?

Television Commerical Cartoon

Story Behind the Cartoon

This cartoon came after the Superbowl. Here we are watching the game on television, but have to go to YouTube to see the commercials. Fifty percent of viewers are there just to see the commercials and the half-time show. Talk about making your head spin!

What’s in Your Closet-Cartoon of the Week

What's-In-your-Closet

The Story Behind the Cartoon

In trucking things build up over time as we run down the road and accumulate things. Spring is a great time to clean things out getting ready for the show season. People who are unorganized often don’t want to get into trying to clean out their closet. In this case they will try to avoid the task. It won’t help you as much as cleaning out your own closet. I hope that makes sense.

Easter Egg Bandit – Cartoon of the Week

Easter-Egg-Bandit

The Story Behind the Cartoon

As you may know many of my cartoons are on the trucking industry. I often try to theme them to match holidays and other timely events. Since Easter is approaching i thought this cartoon would be fitting for the cartoon of the week. Trucks touch everything we have in our lives and things go missing all the time. If a clerk at the store says, “We didn’t get our shipment of Easter eggs this week.” You will now understand why. happy Easter everyone and enjoy the cartoon.

The Truth Behind an Ten Hour Day!-Cartoon of the Week

Waiting to be Inspired

The Story Behind the Cartoon

This cartoon was originally drawn for my first book for artists on how to start a business. I find people think that artists just sit around all day and do nothing, but as you can see we work very hard. As much as it seems like little is being done anyone knows that coming up with fresh ideas is very hard work and something that professional artists train themselves to do on a regular basis. So the next time you see an artist sitting there looking into space, realize they are hard at work. They may be thinking! If you want to get the book for free click here.

Creating Bears & Knuckles-Cartoon of the Week

Bear & Knuckles Page 9

The Story Behind the Cartoons

The Highway Blues strips have been running in publications in the transportation industry for a few years. To change things up I created an off shoot of the strip called “Bear & Knuckles.” The idea for this strip was two truck drivers who seemed to have trouble all the time in their career would end up becoming a truck driving team. It was a humorous way to show the life of these two misfits. They have trouble getting along, try to buy a truck together, and so on. We ran it for two years in Road Today Magazine. You can read the whole series at www.bruceoutridgeproductions.com .

Attitude is Everything!-Cartoon of the Week

Attitude cartoon by Bruce Outridge Productions

The Story Behind the Cartoon

People tell me I’m a pretty positive guy unless of course I’m depressed (that does happen). I do the many interviews for my podcasts and events and I have noticed that the successful people in their careers have a good attitude. In fact many of them have mentioned that on a scale of 1-10, attitude comes in at a 5 alone. A good attitude is the key to success in anything, so I do my best to keep my attitude in check and hope you do as well. Remember “Karma” has a way of coming back to bite us in the behind. If you are ever in an ocean full of sharks in a rubber dingy, you will wish that “Karma” was on your side. Enjoy!

March Break Fiasco-Cartoon of the Week

March-Break-Fiasco by Bruce Outridge

The Story Behind the Cartoon

This cartoon was originally published in Road Today Magazine years ago as part of a monthly cartoon series. I thought it was fitting to share it this week as there may be many truck drivers going through the same thing. Often drivers take their kids with them on school holidays and of course any driver with kids this week driving towards Florida is probably heading towards Disney. The cartoon was taken from the scenario of a Mother sending her kids with her truck driver husband to get some peace and quiet. He is not impressed! Drivers enjoy their quiet time too! Enjoy your March Break if you have one.
