Sketch Walk Drawing Gets Sold by Accident

My sketch walk sketch got sold by accident! I often do sketch walks where I go and draw old buildings, landscapes or other interesting subjects. One walk was to an old church in Burlington called St. Lukes. I don’t attend this church but I love to draw old buildings. I don’t usually sell my work from these sketch walks as it is more about being outdoors. I video tape them for content so others can get ideas on how I go about drawing on location. Many are done in my sketchbook but this particular sketch was done on watercolour paper.

Recently we got a call from a lady asking if I had a drawing of this church. A couple having their anniversary got married at the church and wanted to give them an illustration of the church as a gift. Since I did this four years ago I wasn’t sure I even had the drawing. It turns out I had still kept it and the lady ended up buying it. The idea of this article, NEVER THROW OUT YOUR ART!
