What is a quiet wedding? Apparently it’s a new trend happening in 2025 where instead of having a large lavish wedding people are having smaller intimate weddings. This is a trend that apparently young people are starting for 2025 and as a Caricature Artist I’ve seen both large and small weddings and have to say I think the small weddings are a lot of fun. Large weddings play a role of course as it depends on your family, customs, and your budget. Small weddings do offer a little more intimacy and it’s nice to start out as a couple without owing thousands of dollars for a wedding.
This all started in the pandemic as people had to put their weddings on hold. When we came out of the pandemic couples were starting to move their dates because if you wanted a Saturday wedding there was a year and a half wait for that day. People were starting to move to other days and we’ve noticed that trend continuing in 2025. We are seeing a lot of Thursday, Friday, and Sunday weddings. In fact this summer I have had a few Saturdays off, which never happens. It’s becoming quite a thing and now people are starting to see the effect of the move to other spaces. If you’re planning a wedding in the future, you can save a lot of money by having it on an off day like a Friday, Sunday, or even a Thursday. I know we used to have a lot of long weekends off and long weekends are now becoming something that people are booking because they can have a wedding on an off day and have family fly in. As a Caricaturist both types are fun and if you have a large family then a large wedding might be for you. If you’re somebody who’s just starting out and wants to save some money, a nice intimate wedding might be the way to go.
