Celebrating Dad Through Art

June 16th is Father’s Day and if like most you are wondering what type of gift to get him to show how much you care. Being a Father myself I can tell you that many Fathers are happy just being recognized with a visit or a call. If you want to take it a step further however get Dad a piece of art. There are a few ways to make it happen, you can make something, buy something, or have something created.

If you have the time and talent making something like a special card or collage with mementos of Dad’s favourite items or memories is a great way to go. Maybe take some of those funny photos from memories past and make a unique memory board. Add little items like his old tie or other favourite items that can be glued. Frame it up and you have a unique gift that is sure to bring back memories that will be remembered for a long time. This makes a very personable gift.

You can always go and buy something for Dad or just spend time with him. That always goes over well and the thought is there, but it can be hard to find something personal. If he has a favourite book it can be a very pleasant purchase.

If you want to step it up a notch then having something custom made like a gift caricature is the way to go. It can include lots of personality, can include memories or situations, and can be personalized with people, items, or whatever you want. The only issue is that because it is created you have to think of it at least a couple of weeks in advance. Gift caricatures are very popular gifts because of the personal touch.

Above are just a few suggestions to help make your Father’s Day the best it can be. There are of course many more but all in all Dads just want to be remembered. How you do that is up to you. Happy Father’s Day!
