The Interview-Cartoon of the Week

Media cartoon

The Story Behind the Cartoon

As someone who is not only an artist but entrepreneur with podcasts and now a television show I have interviewed hundreds of people. Some people get nervous as soon as the camera is rolling or the microphone is on. People prepare for the deep in-depth questions but very often mess up on the basics like their name. With that in mind this cartoon was born. Enjoy!

The Social Media Rant-Cartoon of the Week

The Story of the Week

Everyday I see so many rants on social media and I often think to myself you’re just killing your career. People think that talking on social media is like talking over a cup of coffee. It may be the same but it is the same as having that rant over coffee with a news anchor and cameraman listening in. Be careful what you say, it could haunt you forever.

Creating Bears & Knuckles-Cartoon of the Week

Bear & Knuckles Page 9

The Story Behind the Cartoons

The Highway Blues strips have been running in publications in the transportation industry for a few years. To change things up I created an off shoot of the strip called “Bear & Knuckles.” The idea for this strip was two truck drivers who seemed to have trouble all the time in their career would end up becoming a truck driving team. It was a humorous way to show the life of these two misfits. They have trouble getting along, try to buy a truck together, and so on. We ran it for two years in Road Today Magazine. You can read the whole series at www.bruceoutridgeproductions.com .

Toilet Trap-Cartoon of the Week

Dirty-Toilet CartoonThe Story Behind the Cartoon

This cartoon was another cartoon done for the Face Magazine about issues in the trucking industry. Often drivers are delayed at shippers and receivers across the country and need to use the bathroom. Many bathrooms are not kept up to standards or are in need of better cleaning. As more women enter the industry Editor Denis Medeiros through it would be funny if we showed women fighting back by installing toilets in their trucks. Here is the published piece for the magazine.

Rest Area Rant-Cartoon of the Week

Rest-Area-RantThe Story Behind the Cartoon

You may recognize the face in this cartoon as he is from a long time trucking television show. Alex Debogorski was one of the stars of the show Ice Road Truckers. So how did he get into my comic page? A trucking magazine in Canada called The Face Magazine wanted to feature Alex in their magazine in various content on a regular basis. The Face Magazine editor asked me to draw Alex as the main figure with the topic being the shortage of rest area stops across the country. The text and story was written by Denis Medeiros producer of the magazine and trucking company owner. The magazine has since gone under but it was still fun to do the comic page. I never met Alex but from all accounts I hear he was a really good guy. I hope he liked the comic.
